We pick you up!
Our 9th Season offers a local guide who will pick you up at your location within 3 miles of city center (One North Pack Square) . A small group tour, we provide all window, captain chair seating in a late model Ford transit van , drinks/snacks as part of our service. We will travel along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway to discover the amazing views and scenery surrounding this iconic road that connects two National Parks on our way to the hiking portion through the  mountains near Asheville. (scheduled bathroom stops :). We will drive through some beautiful mountain scenery on the way visit three waterfalls and two protected forests
IMPORTANT Before booking this tour please know that we will be walking approximately 3 miles on the hiking portion of this tour over 2 hours at pace of about 1 1/2 miles per hour, including stops at the falls and you should feel comfortable walking this distance before making a booking.
We will return to Asheville is between1:30 & 1:45pm.

Your Local Guide will lead you along the Urban Trail, passing by top sites such as the S&W cafeteria, Basilica of St Lawrence, Vance Memorial, and Grove Arcade. Stop along the way for a private tour of Leaf Global Arts Center spirits at Cultivated Cocktails Distillery, and a beer at Twin Leaf Brewery and Archetype (tickets provided for BOGO at the end) Tastings are provided by local businesses who provide them when open/available.

Starting at our shop just north of downtown Asheville, we’ll meet and greet, hop on electric bicycles, and begin our tour of the area. From our starting point we will leisurely cruise down through the quaint Montford and north Asheville communities on our way to Patton mountain where we will see numerous historical sites. We will then begin our ascent of Patton mountain where we’ll find panoramic views of the southern Appalachian mountains and the Asheville valley at every turn. Cruising on another few miles we’ll hit Town Mountain road where we will embark on a winding and exciting descent back down to the Asheville valley. Arriving at the bottom invigorated and just in time to see the incredible architecture of the historic Grove Park Inn!

The French Broad river spans 218 miles from Rosman, North Carolina through Asheville, and toward the state of Tennessee. Section 9 of the French Broad river starts approximately 45 minutes away from Asheville near Marshall, North Carolina and runs through the Pisgah National Forest. The majority of French Broad Section 9 flows through protected lands, and is beginner-friendly. Your guide will navigate you through approximately 5 miles of Section 9, where you will raft through class II and class III difficulty levels, and you may briefly encounter class IV drops depending on the time of year, and the amount of rainfall. This tour combines an incredible stretch of exciting and continuous rapids with some of the most breathtaking scenery around.

We will hit three of Asheville’s best breweries while zipping around on our brand new fleet of e-bikes. Experience the “Land of Waterfalls” with an expert local guide. This is a must-do tour when visiting Asheville! This tour allows you to see our favorite waterfalls located in Pisgah National Forest. We will travel together deep into the dense mountainous landscape and make several stops to hike to waterfalls. Your guide will tell you about the rich history of this national forest as well as the amazing flora and fauna home to these mountains around Asheville!

We want to make the trip easy for you! Your guide will bring along everything you will need! We will take care of water, snacks, hiking poles, rain gear, and first aid supplies.

Important:
Mountain weather is extremely unpredictable. Rain is very normal in these mountains. We will make sure you have ponchos but be prepared to get wet on this tour. If the weather becomes dangerous and we must cancel the trip, you will receive a full refund.

Travelers have the option of selecting the standard 60-minute tour which includes 8 stops, or opt for the extended tour which lasts 90-minutes and visits an additional 4 stops (12 stops total). We do not enter any of these locations on this tour.

Whether you want to see waterfalls, wildflowers, enjoy a quiet walk on a forested path, or climb a 6,000 foot peak, we will customize these trips based on your desired distance, difficulty, and destination. After booking, our office will contact you to discuss your preferences.

Hike will meet our office in downtown Asheville at 8:30am, and will last approximately 4-5 hours including transportation time. Snacks are included, but transportation is not. Transportation between Asheville and the trailhead (including hotel pickup) can be added for an additional fee. Your guide can provide trekking poles and/or bottled water upon request, at no additional charge.

We hike rain or shine! Hikers should arrive prepared for all weather conditions and pack a rain jacket, an extra warm layer, and water. We may cancel or reschedule your hike in the event of severe or dangerous weather conditions.

We will begin at our shop in North Asheville as the sun gets low in the sky. After we take some time to get custom sized and aquatinted with the e bikes we will set out on our ride up the beautiful mountains that surround Asheville. We will climb up to a breathtaking overlook where we will stop for some refreshments as the light grows long in the Asheville valley down below. During this time of day, much of the wildlife in Asheville is the most active, and we will be sure to take our time enjoying any of the diverse critters who may cross our path during our ride. After stopping by the historic veranda at the Grove Park Inn, we will conclude watching the last rays of sun fade over Southern Appalachia from a local Asheville brewery.

The Blue Ridge parkway Scenic driving tour is chauffered by a certified Naturalist that can tell you all about the flora, fauna an history of the parkway. He will stop at great vistas for photo opportunities and for some short hikes if the guests would like to.
