Over the course of just over 1 mile long, our 90 min walk will pass haunted graveyards, churches, alleyways, hotels, restaurants, and bars. As the night falls over the streets of Charleston, we start by the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon and walk through the historic streets where you will hear about real, and active spirits from Charlestons 350 year history like pirates whose lives were cut short at the end of a noose, a young lady who wonders down a particular alley, and a doctor who walks throughout the Holy City. Join us for a memorable tour of the ground level of the Old City Jail, which housed some of Charleston’s most infamous criminals, 19th-century pirates, and Civil War prisoners. Located on Magazine Street downtown, the Old City Jail operated from 1802 until 1939, and has recently undergone renovation, leaving the first floor in keeping with its original design (with the welcomed addition of air conditioning).
